Casual Vintage
Best For: Good price point & great views
Casual Vintage is a hotel in La Ciutat Vella that I always include. And for good reason.
It was where my parents stayed when I got married!
So it holds some sentimental value for me.
But besides that – I do think this hotel is a great option for the average traveler.
✔️ Their rates are mid-low
✔️ The location is unbeatable
✔️ They have a great view
If you’re looking to stay in a nice, clean hotel without too many bells and whistles — then this is my top choice for you!
Caro Hotel
Best For: History lovers with a higher budget
I’m obsessed with Caro Hotel because of the history and decoration. It’s one of the most unique hotels in Ciutat Vella. Valencia, as you probably know, has thousands of years of history.
And this building has seen most of it!
You’ll still see the Arab Tower ruins in the middle of the hotel — which makes it a great option for history buffs!
This restored palace also hosts a Michelin Star restaurant. So it’s definitely a great option for travelers who want to immerse themselves in the culture and history — with that wonderful dash of luxury.
So it’s definitely one of my top-rated downtown Valencia hotels.
Ad Hoc Carmen
Best For: History lovers with a lower budget.
So maybe you’re a history lover — but you don’t have that luxury travel budget. Then you’re in luck!
Ad Hoc Carmen is another one of the best hotels in Old Town Valencia. It’s right next to the Torres dels Serrans, which is one of my favorite sightseeing spots.
This is a boutique hotel situated inside a building that has its history dating back to the 15th century.
You get to explore this ancient palace (which has obviously had some modern updates)!
The rooms are a bit more modest, so you still get to explore this historical building – but at a more affordable rate.
Which makes it perfect for the average traveler who still wants to experience the lengthy history Valencia has.
Vincci Palace
Best For: Medium budget, but high quality
This is another one of the top hotels in downtown Valencia – only a two minute walk away from the city’s cathedral.
Vincci Palace is an elegant 4-star hotel that has some surprisingly affordable rates!
Because typically in Valencia (Spain in general, too) — is that hotels are often very high quality for the rate you pay.
And Vincci Palace is no different.
It maintains the original façade that was common in the Valencian Golden Age, while the interior has had a modern, Gatsby-esque renovation.
The restaurant and breakfast is fantastic, and the location is ideal.
So if you want something that’s slightly better than average, this is one of the best hotels in the Valencia Old Town for you.
Red Nest Hostel
Best For: Budget Travelers
Sometimes “best” can mean “the best quality for a cheap price”.
And that’s what you’ll get at the Red Nest Hostel.
It’s a highly-rated hostel in the heart of the city center. This is also just a few minutes from the cathedral, but you’ll be able to enjoy rates as low as $40 per night.
Which makes it perfect for backpackers, solo travelers, and people looking to visit Valencia on a budget.
The rooms are clean, it consistently has great reviews, and they host events to meet fellow travelers – so I highly recommend it.

Melia Plaza
Best For: City Hall views
Melia Plaza is fantastic for the fact that you can get incredible views of the City Hall Square.
So if you want a central location, there are few hotels in Valencia’s Old Town that are better than this.
You’ll get access to a rooftop terrace — complete with the glass-enclosed gym and sauna. So if you’re trying to stay healthy on your holiday, you can do so while enjoying the views.
The rates here are higher than at Casual Vintage, so you’ll want to choose this one if you have a bigger budget — and high standards.
Only YOU
Best For: Honeymooners
I think that Only YOU is perfect for couples, people on their honeymoon, and anyone who just wants a lavish time in Valencia. City center hotels often are small and have fewer amenities — but Only You is the complete opposite.
You’ll get access to their spa, in-suit perks, and one of the best rooftop bars in Valencia.
This 5-star hotel has a top-tier restaurant, its own flower shop, and a personal trainer at the gym.
Plus – they’re one of the only hotels in Valencia old town that are pet friendly!
So they’re definitely one of the best places to stay.
Palacio de Rojas
Best For: Luxury apartment-style
Want a luxury experience, while still having all the perks of an apartment? Then the Palacio de Rojas is the perfect choice for you.
This historic palace has been renovated to hold several luxury apartments, each with all the accommodations you could ever need — including kitchenettes.
It’s located right on Carrer de Quart, which is a perfect location for anyone who wants to enjoy the best of El Carme.
And for being a luxury apartment, they are surprisingly affordable – especially in the off season!
Citizentral Juristas
Best For: Affordable apartment-style
Citizentral Juristas is where to stay in Valencia’s Old Town if you’re looking for an apartment — but want to keep the budget lower.
They are clean, well-equipped, and perfectly located apartments.
For many travelers – that’s all you need!
It’s the perfect apartment-style lodging for people who have a medium budget. And considering Airbnbs consistently have super high fees (and cause a lot of controversy amongst the locals) — this is probably a better option!
MYR Marqués House (Café Madrid)
Best For: Food, history, and a dash of luxury
Last up on the list of the best Valencia city center hotels — you have the birthplace of the aigua de València.
This iconic drink was first concocted in Café Madrid, which belongs to the MYR Marqués House Hotel.
So no — this drink isn’t actually super traditional. But it still makes for a nice story.
The Marqués House is located right next to one of the most impressive museums in Valencia, the Palau del Marqués de Dosaigües.
It’s an elegant, modern hotel that lives up to its royal name.
The top-notch location and sophisticated interior make this is a great spot for anyone looking for a touch of luxury.
