Old Town Tour w/ Wine & Tapas

What you’ll try: Full wine & tapas tasting

Price: €75 pp

Why I recommend it: Unique location and variety of meals

This tour is one of the best options for anyone who wants to discover a range of different flavors. As the top-rated food tour in Valencia, you’ll get to try a 10-course tapas meal with wine pairings in a unique location.

This is an intimate Valencia food tour, only allowing groups up to 12 people

Which makes it a great option for anyone who wants a more personal experience while trying out all the tasty foods.

You’ll also get to wander around the city center a bit. A full meal, alcoholic beverages, and a tour are all included in the ticket price.  According to Viator, a whopping 100% of travelers who experienced this tour would recommend it

So it doesn’t get any better than that!

Valencian Paella Cooking Class

What you’ll try: Authentic paella valenciana

Price: €60 per person

Why I recommend it: An intimate & fun cooking experience!

This paella cooking class is the type of food tour in Valencia I would want to attend.

But luckily – I have a Valencian father-in-law to teach me how to make paella 😉

In this class, you’ll head through the Russafa market and buy all the fresh, local ingredients you need to make a real paella. So it’s the perfect chance to practice your Valencian while you’re in the city!

Then you’ll head back to their workshop and cook a paella valenciana the traditional way.

Plus for lunch, you’ll also get some tapas, drinks, and a dessert wine (mistela) that is very typical in Valencia.

I think it’s one of the best food tours in Valencia because of how hands-on this experience is. So if you want to have a unique experience during your holiday — this is the food tour to choose.

Orange Farm with Tapas Tasting

What you’ll try: Fresh, local oranges & tapas

Price: €20 pp

Why I recommend it: Unique experience during the off-season

This trip to an orange orchard is a super fun experience for anybody visiting outside of summer.

(Because yes — Valencia oranges are actually a winter fruit!)

You’ll head to the lovely town of Carcaixent and meet the owners of a small orange orchard. You’ll learn more about how oranges are grown and harvested, as well as how important they are to the local culture economy.

While you’re there, you’ll get a tasting of some local Valencian products as well.

I think this is one of the best food tours in Valencia simply because it truly doesn’t get more authentic than this! I guarantee you every Valencian either has – or knows someone who has a small orange orchard. So it’s a great way to get an authentic experience.

Note: Transportation is not included. So you’ll either need to rent a car or take the local train (takes around 35 minutes – but it’s super easy).

Food, History, and Culture

What you’ll try: Local tapas & orxata

Price: €87 pp

Why I recommend it: It’s a lengthy tour and you get your money’s worth

This mixed tour gives you a bit of everything! You’ll have a walking tour through the city center. You get to try some typical tapas. And you get to try orxata — one of the most authentic Valencian delicacies.

So with small groups of 8 people, it’s a great way to learn more about the local food & culture in an intimate setting.

Because I’ve been on a lot of food tours that are relatively impersonal, but the guide on this one is super sweet and takes the time to make you feel involved

So that’s why I think it’s one of the best food tours in Valencia!

Private Wineries Tour

What you’ll try: Local wines

Price: €105 pp

Why I recommend it: Fun winemaking experience any time of the year

This wine tour is undoubtedly one of the best food experiences in Valencia. Food tours can sometimes be boring if all you do is sit down with random people and eat dinner. But in this case — you’ll go straight to Valencia’s wine country and learn more about the process.

You’ll head over to Utiel-Requena and will meet the owners of some wineries. They’ll open the doors to their estate and you’ll get an inside look into the wine-making process from start to finish.

Besides exploring the estate, wine cellar, and vineyard — you’ll end everything with a wine tasting.

It’s the perfect experience for any wine lover who wants to explore some typical Valencian drinks. I’ve been here myself and can confidently say that it’s a super fun experience!

Note: This tour has transportation included. So you’ll be able to drink all the wine you want without worrying about driving back 😉
