The 7 Best Cheap Hotels in Valencia, Spain

These are the best cheap hotels in Valencia. Spain is known for having relatively high-quality hotels for an affordable price – so even if your travel budget is medium-low, you can still stay at a decent hotel. So let’s look at some ways to reduce your travel budget and still get a nice hotel experience during your trip!

Great Valencia Hotels — Cheap Rates

There are a few strategies we can use to reduce our travel budget to Valencia. Cheap hotels are one of the best ways to enjoy the city without breaking the bank.

So before we get started, here’s my approach to finding the best cheap hotels in Valencia.

  1. The hotel is probably outside the city center
  2. It has to be clean
  3. It needs to offer all the necessary services
  4. It shouldn’t be more than $130 per night

Also – these are all hotels or apartment-style. In other words — no hostels. But you can check out my hostel guide or my guide on how to travel to Valencia on a budget

So we’re traveling to cheap hotels but we’re not settling for trashy, sketchy, or shared bathrooms.

If that sounds like what you’re looking for – then keep on reading.

7 Best Cheap Hotels in Valencia

This is a curated list for the best options in Valencia. Cheap hotels can still offer fairly decent quality — as long as you’re willing to step a bit outside the city center.

And if you’re not, then hey – check out my guide to hotels in the city center

But since the public transport is great, plus the fact that Valencia really isn’t that big — this is a great way to save big!

So here is my list of the top 7 cheap hotels in Valencia:

Quick Disclaimer: These were all hand-picked by me. I searched for hotels in the middle of June. So depending on your vacation dates (and your cookies) – prices might vary!

Hotel Olympia

Best For: People who want to stay near the beach

Hotel Olympia makes it to the top of my list because it has a LOT of perks — as long as you’re willing to take the metro.

It’s technically in Alboraia, a neighboring town. But you’re just a few minutes away from the metro that will take you straight to the city center in 15 minutes.

Plus, it’s actually a 4-Star hotel right be the beach!

So you get a full beachside spa resort, and it still counts as a cheap Valencia hotel!

So especially if you plan your trip early, you can get a great deal. The biggest downside is that you’re a bit reliant on the metro. But it’s easy to use – and it’s free with the Valencia Tourist Card

Citizentral Juristas

Best For: People who want an apartment-style accommodation with the best location

Citizentral Juristas is actually the most centric lodging on this list.

The reason I added this one is because it’s an apartment-style that tends to be fairly affordable. Hotels often push up the prices because of all the extra services – but this one doesn’t have any!

It’s an Airbnb-style hotel (without all the cleaning fees and inconveniences).

The apartments are clean, have all the basic necessities — including a kitchenette — and have a pretty decent location.

One downside is that it is kind of hard to find. It’s hidden down some back alleys in El Carme. And while it’s completely safe, it is confusing to find for tourists!

So since it is still a cheap hotel in Valencia, here we are sacrificing the extra services to get a more centric location

ABCYou

Best For: People who love cozy B&B experiences

Head towards the outskirts of Russafa and you’ll get another one of the best cheap hotels. Valencia has a lot of nice areas right outside the center, and this neighborhood is a great location for travelers.

ABCYou is a B&B-style hotel with a free coffee bar and garden. So it’s a nice step up from a dingy Airbnb since you get some nice extra amenities (including breakfast) — while still being quite affordable.

I usually include this hotel on the list of the best cheap options since these have well-maintained, cute rooms without breaking the bank.

Plus you’ll have easy access to the rest of the city since it’s not too far away!

Hotel Medium

Best For: People who want to sacrifice location for better quality

Hotel Medium strikes a balance between affordability and quality service. Because this resort-style hotel even has a pool and 4-star accommodations — despite being less than $130 per night in June.

Of course the location isn’t super convenient — but it’s not bad either. It’s headed towards the City of Arts and Sciences, but on the side towards the city center.

In other words, it’s a happy “medium” for most travelers.

So in my opinion, that makes it one of the best cheap hotels in Valencia, especially if you still want more luxury-quality services!

Sweet Hotel Renasa & Continental

Best For: People staying towards the student area

Sweet Hotel Renasa (and the Continental) offers budget-friendly options towards the universities.

The rooms are clean, and they even offer perks like a sauna and business center. So that makes it a great option if you’re planning on staying a while and need cheap accommodation.

It’s located near the university, which means it’s a great option for students, families of students, and other young solo travelers. Plus it’s close to the Mestalla Stadium, so if you’re a fan of football (soccer), then you can easily see a game.

Ilunion

Best For: Business travelers

Ilunion actually has several locations across Valencia — but all of them are relatively affordable hotels. Valencia has a couple 4-star hotels that have a really good price bang for a buck, and this is one of them.

The one near the Palau de Congresos is one of the cheapest options

And while it is far away from the city center — it’s a great option for business travelers. They often host events here, so if you’re traveling for work, it’s likely where you’ll need to be.

Plus, it’s close to the metro — so you’ll always have easy access to the city center when you have some time for tourism. And if you’re driving in to the city, this is one of the best hotels with parking.

Ad Hoc Carme

Best For: History lovers

Ad Hoc Carme is another cheap hotel located in the city center. It’s right near the Torres dels Serrans, which makes it super easy to get to.

And while this hotel doesn’t offer anything special in terms of amenities or services — they’re in a fantastic historical location in a building from the 15th Century. I always include this one on my list of the best hotels in La Ciutat Vella for this reason, too!

So if you don’t care that much about the room itself, and you just want something cheap, clean, and well-located — then this the choice for you.
